Congregation Ohel Jacob is formed.

[1891] The congregation meets initially at 23 Meridian Street, then moves to Chelsea Street, and then 86 Paris Street. The building is destroyed by a fire in 1973 and the property is subsequently sold to the East Boston Community Center.
